Silas Johnson is a native of Macon, Mississippi though he has lived in Springfield, Illinois for the past 40 years. The son of Reverend Willie Johnson and Carrie Lee Ewin-Johnson who entered into Paradise before him, Reverend Johnson was educated in Macon, Mississippi where he graduated from Noxubee County High School. In Springfield, he attended Lincoln Land Community College and United Theological Seminary where he earned the Bachelors of Theology Degree in Religious Studies.  Earlier, the young Silas Johnson had studied four years with the United States Department of Labor and the Springfield Electricians Area Joint Apprentice and Training Committee and was certified as a journeyman electrician in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #193. In July 2010, Reverend Johnson retired from his electrical career with City Water, Light and Power of Springfield, Illinois and now devotes himself fully to Calvary and his Nehemiah Project ministries.  He says.  I am completely satisfied with my electrician’s career, but I am most-fulfilled with fulltime service in the gospel ministry.
Trained by the Late Pastor Dr. Rudolph S. Shoultz of Union Baptist Church, who ordained Silas when he was age 25, the young Reverend met and married the beautiful Loretta A. Robinson, the daughter of Union members Dollie and Paul Thomas. The marriage is blessed with three sons:  Isaiah R., Samuel LeJuane, and Silas Adrian II.
